The East Coast Classic started in 2011 when scooter rally organizers from along the mid-atlantic region consolidated their events in an effort to host a single annual rally on the beach. The event has been held in various locations on the first weekend of June—first in Wildwood, NJ, then Dewey Beach, DE, and now in Asbury Park, NJ.
Access to all events is included with registration, but in order to participate in the scooter related events (Show & Shine or Ride) you must be on a classic scooter. Only classic scooters are eligible for and awards.
How do we define “classic scooter”? A classic scooter is typically steel, shifts, and was produced in Europe roughly between 1940 and 1980—there are always exceptions of course (ie: Bajaj, Fuji, some Vespas, Servetas, etc).
